I am very happy to introduce an exciting new gainer podcast/comic/blog/recipe library/general multimedia awesomeness created by my two dear friends, Matt and Pete. It's called GainTirade and it's awesome.
Matt and Pete are a very cute, committed, whip smart and hilarious encourager/gainer couple and they have put a ton of effort in to start up a very fun, interesting, engaging podcast. It deals with the various ins and outs of having a relationship that has gaining as a central aspect, and generally existing within the gainer/encourager community.
It's funny, it's really well done, the podcast is updated every Sunday, and if you have a tumblr, you should most assuredly follow them there so you don't miss any of the adorable comics Matt makes. Give it a listen and a look over, if you're reading my blog, I am sure you'll enjoy it. And check out and follow their twitter too!

Of Scales and Twitter
Above, a hot guy getting weighed in... Kinda related to the post, but mostly there just cause he's hot.
I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Unplggd, and came across this post about a scale that automatically tweets your weight on twitter. I know it's designed to help put the pressure on people to lose weight, but, I imagine with the group of gainers and encouragers on twitter, it could be a very automatic way to get encouragement and track your progress if you're gaining yourself. You can set it to tweet your weight every day, every week, or every month. I know it's kinda excessive, but, seen when have I ever been opposed to excess?
If anyone buys one and tries it, be sure to let me know.
You can order one here.
In semi-related twitter news, the Gainers & Encouragers twitter list I created is following nearly 100 gainer and encourager types on twitter. If you're following it, don't forget to follow my twitter too, since I can't be on the list since I made it.
You can find my twitter here.
Combining the Gainers & Encouragers twitter list with a scale that tweets your weight every day, I can guarantee is a recipe for a bigger belly :)

The Gainer & Encourager Twitter List
So, as you guys most likely already know, I'm on, and love, twitter.
You can follow me here
Twitter just recently added the Twitter Lists function in a beta testing capacity, and I decided I was going to make as comprehensive as possible Gainers & Encouragers of twitter list. It's cool, cause you can follow the list instead of needing to follow all of the Gainer & Encourager types one by one, and I'm gonna do my best to keep it current as new guys pop onto twitter. So far there are about 75 gainers and encouragers on it (including some of the cutest guys on BeefyFrat, I might add).
If you want to be added, just shoot me a message on twitter (@GetASnack), or email me at GetASnack@gmail.com, and I'll be more than happy to include you.
Twitter is a really neat resource for gainer and encourager types, as it sort of provides a kind of slow, but real time avenue to channel your encourager-y impulses, or get some quick encouragement to finish those last few cookies. But most of all it's fun.
To recap:
Follow me here (@getasnack) (Cause I made the list, I can't be on it)
and
Follow the Gainers & Encouragers of twitter list

Happy tweeting and eating. haha

Gaining & Encouraging 2.0
Some of you might have noticed, I recently started a twitter tied to this blog. Just like how I believe that this is the first gainer & encourager related blog to be started, I think this is also one of the first gainer and encourager related twitters. So follow me! It's a simple way to remain up to date on blog updates here, and little encouraging tips that don't warrant a full blog post on their own. Plus, how cool would it be to get a gainer oriented bunch of twitters? If you don't already have an account, make one of your own, and then follow me lolAnother development you guys might or might not be aware of is the introduction of BeefyFrat Mobile Beta, or iFrat as Matt Hess has dubbed it.

It's still in beta development, but, it looks like it has a lot of potential. You'll be able to easily update your status, see recently updated profiles, chat with people on your frat brothers list, and generally bebop around the site on your iPhone, iPod touch, or crackberry. Check it out on your phone at m.beefyfrat.com.
