The "Ralph Kramden" gut is mentioned in the NY Times article. Ralph Kramden (The Honeymooners) was played by Jackie Gleason - he was really fat and completely developed. I prefer the well-fed and "I don't care" look with the gut developing. But it's interesting that having a gut is now fashionable.
